Does equipping count as casting a spell?

No, it doesn’t count as casting a spell. (Activating an ability and casting a spell are two different things.) Trying to equip a creature will trigger things like Angelic Protector and Phantasmal Dragon, but it won’t trigger heroic abilities.

Can Sorceries have flash?

You may cast sorcery spells as though they had flash. (You may cast them any time you could cast an instant.) If Leyline of Anticipation is in your opening hand, you may begin the game with it on the battlefield. You may cast spells as though they had flash.

Are flash and instant the same?

Flash allows the card that has flash to be played at any time you could play an instant. It does not allow you to play any other cards at any time you have an instant. So Flash doesn’t mean anything once it’s on the battlefield.

Does equipping an artifact go on the stack?

Yes, “equipping an equipment” is an activated ability and as such goes on the stack and can be responded to. An opponent may target (e.g. destroy) the creature or the equipment itself. Just because an activated ability cost 0 does not mean it does not use the stack.

Why is Flash banned in Commander?

Flash was banned in Commander in 2020 because of how it warped the competitive EDH meta. cEDH players were heavily incentivized to incorporate the Flash/Protean Hulk combo into their decks, as no other viable decks came close. The card’s busted, and good luck getting a hold of a copy.

Why is Flash Good MTG?

Really though, Flash is good because it allows you to cast things as blockers to surprise the opponent when they attack with their Centaur Courser, but you flash in a Skyline Predator to block and kill it.
