You do not need to pay any mana for a creature to attack (unless an effect like Propaganda requires you to).
Can you respond to tapping a creature for mana?
You can just play it and nobody can respond. Mana abilities don’t use the stack. A mana ability is an activated ability that adds mana to your mana pool. So, for example, tapping lands or Llanowar Elves for mana can’t be responded to and doesn’t use the stack.
Can you tap a creature while its attacking?
This action cannot be responded to; once a creature is declared as an attacker, you cannot tap it to prevent it from attacking. Even if it has vigilance, tapping it will not remove it from combat unless it’s due to regeneration or an effect that explicitly removes something from combat.
Can land creatures attack MTG?
If the land has entered the battlefield on the same turn it becomes the creature, it can’t attack. If it had entered in some previous turn, it can attack normally.
Can you respond to someone tapping mana?
No, mana abilities (abilities that generate mana) don’t use the stack. if the land is tapped by any other reason that not generating mana than it may be respondable. Examples: You can’t respond to someone tapping a Mountain for mana.
Can you tap a land in response to it being tapped?
Yes. Before the ability resolves, your opponent will get priority, and at that point he can tap his lands.
Can you tap a land creature?
No, he can’t. A creature must be untapped to be declared an attacker, so if it’s tapped for any reason—including for mana—before attackers are declared, it can’t attack.
Do you have to tap a creature to attack?
If you attack with a creature, then you must tap it when you attack with it, so you won’t be able to use it’s tap ability later in the turn. Note that “tap a creature’s ability” makes no sense.
Can a land become creature, can produce mana?

When do you start attacking the creature lands?
In many games, creature lands are relatively simple to play with. You treat them as a normal land in the early game, until you’ve played out all the spells in your hand. Then, once you reach the late stages of the game and no longer need to spend all of your mana every turn, you can start attacking!
Can you make Gideon Jura a creature and attack the same turn?
So you can’t cast Gideon Jura, make him a creature, then attack the same turn. As soon as he becomes a creature, the “summoning sickness” rule applies to him. Similarly, you can’t play Inkmoth Nexus, animate it, then tap it for mana the same turm.
