See rule 702.9, “Flying.” 702.9a Flying is an evasion ability. 702.9b A creature with flying can’t be blocked except by creatures with flying and/or reach. A creature with flying can block a creature with or without flying.
Can flying creatures defend?
The flying creature will deal combat damage to your non-flying creature. The fact that it has flying has nothing to do with it; that just determines whether it can block or be blocked. Everything you need to know about this is covered in the basic rules; look for the section ‘ATTACKING AND BLOCKING’.
Does trample go through flying?
Level 3 Magic Judge All flying means to the rules is that a creature with flying cannot be blocked by a creature without flying. If you block all creatures that the opponent attacks with, and no attacking creatures have trample, then there would be no damage going through to the player.
Can a creature you control attack an opponent?
Except for creatures named Akron Legionnaire and artifact creatures, creatures you control can’t attack. Each opponent who cast a spell this turn can’t attack with creatures. Each opponent who attacked with a creature this turn can’t cast spells. Flying (This creature can’t be blocked except by creatures with flying or reach.)

Creatures can’t attack you or planeswalkers you control unless their controller pays for each of those creatures. Whenever a creature deals damage to you, put a gold counter on it. Each creature with a gold counter on it is a Wall in addition to its other creature types and has defender.
Are there any creatures that can’t attack you?
Protection from white (This creature can’t be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, enchanted, or equipped by anything white.) Creatures can’t attack you or planeswalkers you control unless their controller pays for each of those creatures.
Can a flying creature attack from the ground?
A high-Dexterity flying creature that has a ranged attack won’t even come near the ground to use that attack—it will simply attack from the air.
